Intensive Program Synopsis

Earn your AAN  Maintenance Toolbox Certification AND have the opportunity to test for your EPA 608 Universal Certification.  This Intensive Series will help you be prepared for any HVAC emergency and, signals to an employer your commitment to efficient residential property maintenance. If you successfully pass your EPA 608 Universal test, you will be certified in the recovery, reclamation, and purchase of refrigerant under the EPA 2019 guidelines.

When you have completed this section, you will:

  • Be familiar with Basic HVAC terminology
  • Understand the fundamentals of the refrigeration cycle
  • Know the four major components of an HVAC system and be able to explain each function
  • Be knowledgeable about low voltage controls
  • Be able to disassemble the main components of an HVAC unit
  • Be able to reassemble the main components of an HVAC unit

When you have completed this section, you will:

  • Be familiar with HVAC terminology
  • Understand the fundamentals of the refrigeration cycle
  • Be knowledgeable about High voltage troubleshooting
  • Be knowledgeable about low voltage controls
  • Troubleshoot to a component level effectively
  • Be aware of workplace safety measures while servicing a system
  • Know how to use electrical test equipment
  • Have practiced charging a system correctly with Superheat

Leave with your AAN HVAC Certificate of Completion for the HVAC portion regardless of whether you pass your EPA test.

Class will run Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (8:30PM-4:00 PM) and the exam will be held on Friday starting at 8:00 AM. The EPA exam will be held on Friday. Please bring a laptop or tablet with you for testing.
