Legislation of Interest to NACPO
It was a good year for NACPO in the Legislature. In addition to significant tax relief being delivered for businesses and property owners, positive changes to TERC appeals were enacted (LB 28) and the state historic tax credit under the Job Creation and Mainstreet Revitalization Act was extended. We also kept numerous bad bills from passing. These included efforts to establish a state housing agency (LB 424) and creation of a “right” to access sunlight (LB 49). NACPO was also active on TIF legislation and led the fight against over a half dozen landlord-tenant measures that would have negatively impacted the availability of safe and affordable housing and the multi-family industry.
